Nordic Venture Network (NVN) – the club of the leading technology venture capital firms in the Nordic region – today announces the 2016 results of the Nordic Venture Performance Index (NVPI). The study is based on Venture Capital owned portfolio companies 2000 – 2016.

Despite lower returns than in 2015, the NVPI outperformed the public market equivalents like the NASDAQ-100 again in 2016.
2016 was another strong exit year in Nordic venture capital. By the end of 2016 more than 50% of the total gains was realised.

The NVPI has been created to for the first time establish a credible Index showing the actual returns from the Nordic Venture Capital market. The index will be an efficient tool in marketing the Nordic venture capital and startup market and will lead to more capital invested into innovative Nordic companies.
