Kwera

Kwera provides financial support for higher education to young people in Sub-Saharan Africa who are enrolled at local universities. Through a customised, inclusive, and demand-driven skills-building program, Kwera also helps develop the students’ employability and entrepreneurial skills.

Kwera’s model is not only innovative but also scalable. The students commit to paying a percentage of their salary once they graduate and secure employment ultimately creating a self-sustaining model. 

The organisation is dedicated to promoting gender equality and is guided by the principles of non-discrimination and respect for human rights. Kwera aims to create a community of open-minded individuals who are committed to contributing to the development of the youth workforce in Sub-Saharan Africa. Their mission is to equip young people with the essential skills for success and to become positive role models in their communities. As they say at Kwera: Finance one, educate all.
